We're thrilled to welcome Marcel Bellenger, Account Manager at Bibendum Wine Co., for the next event in our Masterclass Series.
Massolino is one of Piedmont's historic wine families, with roots firmly established in Serralunga d'Alba since 1896, when Giovanni Massolino founded the estate. What began as a traditional Langa farm has evolved over four generations into one of the region's most respected producers, while retaining a strong sense of family and place. Giovanni's son, Giuseppe, helped shape the modern identity of the estate and was among the founders of the Consortium for the Defence of Barolo and Barbaresco in 1934. Today, the family continues to guide Massolino, carrying forward a philosophy built on tradition, patience and an enduring belief in the character of Serralunga.
At the heart of the Massolino story is its extraordinary collection of vineyards. Over generations, the family has acquired and developed some of Serralunga d'Alba's most celebrated crus, including Margheria and, most famously, Vigna Rionda. The estate's portfolio also extends beyond Serralunga, offering a broader expression of Piedmont's diverse terroirs.
Massolino's approach is rooted in allowing vineyard and vintage to speak clearly, combining meticulous vineyard work with a considered, minimally interventionist approach in the cellar. Traditional methods remain central to the wines, while the family continues to evolve where it can further enhance the expression of fruit and terroir.
This selection offers an opportunity to explore the breadth of the estate, from the approachable Langhe Nebbiolo through to classic Barolo and Barbaresco, as well as two distinctive single-vineyard Barolo expressions.
