We're thrilled to welcome Christian Canala, Managing Director for Vinify, for the next event in our Masterclass Series.
Few names have shaped the story of Piemonte as profoundly as Bruno Giacosa. Born in Neive in 1929, Giacosa began his career alongside his father as a grape broker, developing an extraordinary ability to identify exceptional fruit long before he owned vineyards himself. His first wine, released in 1961, marked the beginning of a legacy built on meticulous vineyard selection, pioneering single-vineyard bottlings, and an unwavering pursuit of quality that continues to influence generations of winemakers.
Unlike many of his contemporaries, Giacosa achieved equal acclaim for both Barolo and Barbaresco, producing some of the region's most celebrated wines from legendary sites including Santo Stefano, Asili, Falletto and Collina Rionda. A contemporary of Angelo Gaja, Giacosa quietly became one of the defining figures of modern Piemonte, earning a reputation for uncompromising standards, remarkable intuition, and decisions that only added to his legendary status. His wines remain benchmarks for purity, elegance and the expression of place.
Today, the estate continues under the stewardship of Bruno's daughter, Bruna Giacosa, alongside a dedicated winemaking team committed to preserving his philosophy. Join Christian Canala for a special masterclass exploring the remarkable legacy of Bruno Giacosa through a selection of exceptional wines, discovering why this iconic estate remains one of the most revered names in Italian wine.
