Brunello di Montalcino is one of Italy's most revered wines, produced exclusively from Sangiovese in the sun-drenched hills surrounding the medieval town of Montalcino. Celebrated for its structure, longevity and remarkable ability to express terroir, Brunello combines power with elegance - often offering layers of complexity that evolve beautifully with age. Strict production regulations and extended maturation requirements ensure a wine of depth, while the varied soils and elevations across Montalcino create striking stylistic diversity from producer to producer.

In this upcoming masterclass, hosted by David Ridge, guests will explore a selection of benchmark producers who exemplify the character and prestige of Brunello di Montalcino. Legendary estates such as Cerbaiona are revered for intensely artisanal, age-worthy wines of profound concentration and finesse, while Baricci offers a more traditional expression, famed for its perfume and elegance. Completing the lineup, Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona showcases the richness and generosity of the southern zone, producing wines celebrated for their depth, polish and approachability. Together, these estates provide a compelling lens through which to understand the heritage, diversity and enduring allure of Brunello di Montalcino.

We will be sampling the following wines:

  • Cerbaiona Sangiovese IGT Toscana Rosso 'Grammatica' 2023
  • Baricci Rosso di Montalcino 2024
  • Cerbaiona Rosso di Montalcino 2023
