Meet the producer
Marcello Zaccagnini
Founded in 1978 by Marcello Zaccagnini, Cantina Zaccagnini has become one of Abruzzo’s best-known ambassadors, built on a deep connection to the region’s native varieties and the distinctive landscape from which they come. Set among the hills of Bolognano, at the crossroads of the Maiella, Gran Sasso and Morrone mountains, the winery is shaped by a philosophy in which modern winemaking respects the traditions and character of the land.
From its earliest days, the estate has combined a passion for Abruzzo’s indigenous grapes with an uncompromising focus on quality, bringing together generations of local knowledge with modern technology and careful vineyard management. This philosophy extends to the winery itself, whose contemporary, low-impact architecture and renewable energy systems reflect Zaccagnini’s commitment to protecting the surrounding landscape and taking a sustainable approach to the future of viticulture. Across its range, the wines remain firmly rooted in their territory, expressing the history, traditions and distinctive character of Abruzzo."
