Meet the producer
The third generation of the family as wine producers is now represented by five cousins
Tenuta San Guido is one of Italy’s most iconic family estates, born from Mario Incisa della Rocchetta’s vision to create a great wine from the stony soils of Bolgheri — a dream that ultimately gave rise to Sassicaia and transformed Italian wine. Guided by a philosophy of respect for nature, the family has spent generations nurturing not only vineyards but an entire ecosystem, preserving the unique landscape of the estate while continually striving for excellence. Guidalberto, first released in 2000 after more than twenty years of experimentation, is named after Guidalberto della Gherardesca, the family's 19th-century ancestor whose agricultural innovations helped shape the Bolgheri countryside. Today, it reflects the same pioneering spirit that defines Tenuta San Guido: honouring tradition while embracing innovation to craft wines of elegance, character and enduring sense of place
