A powerful and age-worthy single-vineyard Barolo with aromas of ripe red cherry, dried rose, violet, liquorice, sweet spice and forest floor. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with firm yet refined tannins, vibrant acidity and remarkable depth. Concentrated dark fruit is layered with savoury earth and mineral notes, leading to a long, persistent finish. An excellent match for braised beef, venison, truffle dishes and mature hard cheeses.

Producer Info: Founded in 1912, Giovanni Sordo is one of Barolo's historic family-owned estates based in Castiglione Falletto. The winery owns vineyards across many of the Langhe's most prestigious crus, producing traditionally styled Barolo that highlights the individuality of each site. Fermentation is carried out with extended maceration in stainless steel before maturation for 24 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by bottle ageing. This traditional approach produces elegant, terroir-driven wines with outstanding ageing potential.
