Köfererhof is one of South Tyrol’s oldest wineries, with a history dating back to 976 and a deep connection to the mountain landscape of the Valle Isarco. Today, the estate is run by the third generation, Günther and Gaby Kerschbaumer, who have built on this extraordinary heritage with a deeply personal approach to winemaking. Their six hectares of terraced vineyards sit between 650 and 700 metres above sea level, where harsh mountain conditions, dramatic temperature shifts and long winters create a challenging environment, but one perfectly suited to producing vibrant, characterful white wines. For the Kerschbaumers, this demanding landscape is not something to overcome but something to embrace, with the mineral soils, Alpine climate and Dolomite surroundings at the heart of the estate’s identity.
At Köfererhof, wine is as much about passion and craftsmanship as it is about place. The family works closely with nature, hand-picking the grapes and carefully bringing out the individual character of each variety in the cellar.
