Meet the producer
Claudio Fenocchio and his family are quietly becoming one of the most exciting names in Barolo. Based in the heart of the Langhe, Claudio and his wife Nicoletta have built the estate alongside their daughters Eleonora and Letizia, combining generations of family knowledge with an uncompromising belief in the potential of their vineyards. Despite the growing international attention, the Fenocchios remain remarkably humble and deeply connected to their land, allowing the wines to speak for themselves. Their Barolos have earned a reputation for their elegance, energy and remarkable precision, with recent releases showing just how beautifully the estate can translate even challenging vintages.
At the heart of Fenocchio’s philosophy is a willingness to trust instinct rather than follow the crowd. Claudio’s approach is traditional but never rigid, allowing each vintage to dictate its own path and pursuing quality even when conditions are difficult. This confidence was particularly evident in the 2024 vintage, when, despite the challenges and low yields, he chose to produce his full range of cru Barolos and, potentially, a Riserva. The result is an estate increasingly recognised for wines that combine the classical soul of Barolo with an unusually vibrant, delicate and personal character, placing Fenocchio among the producers to watch in the Langhe.
