Fontodi Chianti Classico 2022

Refined and savoury, with concentrated black cherry and plum layered with violet, spice, liquorice and subtle mocha. Energetic and beautifully structured, with fine-grained tannins and a long mineral finish, this is a serious Chianti made for slow dinners, rich pasta and roast meats.

Giovanni Manetti

Fontodi has been in the Manetti family since 1968, continuing a connection to the Chianti region that stretches back generations through the family’s traditional production of terracotta tiles. Set in Panzano’s celebrated Conca d’Oro, the estate has built its reputation around a deep understanding of Sangiovese and an unwavering commitment to expressing the character of the land. Today, Fontodi is a certified organic estate spanning 130 hectares, with around 70 hectares planted to vines and farming practices centred on sustainability, biodiversity and minimising external inputs.

In the cellar, traditional winemaking is combined with a modern, gravity-fed approach designed to preserve the natural integrity of the grapes. With a focus on estate-grown fruit and careful ageing in wood, Fontodi produces wines that capture the depth, elegance and distinctive character of Panzano, with Sangiovese at the heart of the estate’s identity.
