Vie di Romans Chardonnay 2023
Rich yet precise, with ripe apple, pear and citrus layered with white flowers, almond and subtle vanilla. Full-bodied and polished, it balances generous fruit with fresh mineral character, making it ideal with roast chicken, creamy pasta, seafood, grilled fish and soft cheeses.

the Gallo family in the cellars
Vie di Romans is a historic family estate in Mariano del Friuli, where the Gallo family has been devoted to vineyards and wine for more than a century. Gianfranco Gallo, who has led the estate since 1978, transformed Vie di Romans through bold vineyard improvements and an uncompromising focus on quality, introducing separate vinification of individual vineyard sites and establishing a distinctive style built around patience and precision. Since 1992, the estate has released its white wines two years after harvest, allowing them time to develop greater depth and complexity.
At Vie di Romans, the relationship between land, vine and winemaker is at the centre of everything. The estate farms 67 hectares in the Friuli Isonzo Rive Alte, where mineral-rich, iron-bearing soils and cooling Bora winds create ideal conditions for expressive, long-lived whites. Each vineyard is vinified separately to preserve its individual character, reflecting the family’s belief that the true identity of a wine comes from understanding the subtle interaction between soil, climate, viticulture and human care.
