Meet the producer
Di Majo Norante is one of Molise’s historic wine estates, with a tradition of growing grapes and making wine dating back to the 19th century. The family produces its wines from the vineyards of the ancient fief of the Marquises Norante di Santa Cristina in Campomarino, where sandy, loose soils and cooling breezes from the Adriatic create favourable conditions for the region’s native varieties. Under Luigi and later Alessio Di Majo, the estate developed a reputation for putting the character of southern Italian grapes ahead of yield or uniformity, combining inherited knowledge with a spirit of research and experimentation.
Today, Di Majo Norante remains deeply committed to the identity of Molise, working primarily with native varieties including Aglianico, Montepulciano, Tintilia, Falanghina and Greco. The vineyards are farmed organically, with a focus on biodiversity, natural fertilisers, low yields and careful manual selection, while the cellar combines traditional winemaking with modern technology. The result is a range of wines that celebrate the character of southern Italy while reflecting the family’s long-standing belief in quality, nature and a strong sense of place.
