Meet the producer

Piergiorgio Tommasi

Tommasi’s story began in 1902 when Giacomo Battista Tommasi purchased a small vineyard in the heart of Valpolicella Classico. More than a century later, the family remains at the helm, with the fourth generation continuing the vision established by their ancestors. What started as a modest family farm has grown into one of Italy’s most respected wine estates, yet the values that shaped its success remain unchanged: a deep connection to the land, an unwavering commitment to quality and a belief that great wines are born from patience, dedication and respect for tradition.

Through four generations, the Tommasi family has helped define the identity of Valpolicella, earning international acclaim for Amarone while remaining deeply rooted in their home territory. Their journey is one of steady growth and family stewardship, with each generation building upon the work of the last while preserving the character and heritage of the region. Today, Tommasi Family Estates extends across some of Italy’s most celebrated wine regions, but the heart of the family remains firmly in Valpolicella, where their passion for hospitality, craftsmanship and the culture of Italian wine continues to guide everything they do.
