Fantini began in 1994 in Abruzzo with three friends, Filippo Baccalaro, Valentino Sciotti and Camillo De Iulis, who set out to create a wine company that could showcase the quality and diversity of southern Italy. Their unconventional approach was built without owning vineyards, instead working closely with small growers and selecting exceptional sites, giving them access to a remarkable range of old vines, soils and microclimates. What began as an ambitious dream quickly grew into one of southern Italy’s most successful wine groups, while remaining rooted in the relationships between growers, vineyards and people.
Today, Fantini works across Abruzzo and several of Italy’s other distinctive wine regions, with the original spirit of its founders still at the centre of the project. The wines are shaped by the character of each territory, from the Montepulciano vineyards of Abruzzo to the volcanic slopes of Mount Vulture and the Mediterranean landscapes of Puglia. Sustainability and low-impact farming are central to the group’s approach, reflecting a belief that caring for the land is essential to producing wines of genuine character.
