Meet the producer

Founded in 1818 through the marriage of Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon, Billecart-Salmon remains one of the few Champagne houses to have stayed family-owned and independent for more than two centuries. From the very beginning, the house was guided by a simple philosophy that continues to define it today: “Give priority to quality, strive for excellence.” Across seven generations, the family has remained deeply involved in every aspect of the estate, preserving a legacy built on patience, craftsmanship and an unwavering pursuit of refinement.

Based in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Billecart-Salmon has earned a reputation as one of Champagne’s benchmark producers, celebrated for wines that combine elegance, precision and remarkable balance. The house has long embraced innovation in the service of quality, pioneering techniques such as cold settling while remaining firmly rooted in traditional Champagne craftsmanship. Today, under the stewardship of the seventh generation, Billecart-Salmon continues to produce Champagnes defined by freshness, finesse and purity, remaining faithful to the distinctive style that has made the house one of the region’s most respected names.
