The fifth and sixth generation
Alois Lageder is one of Alto Adige’s most respected family estates, with roots stretching back to 1823 when Johann Lageder began trading wine in Bolzano. Six generations later, the family remains at the helm, with the acquisition of the historic Löwengang estate in 1934 marking an important chapter in the winery’s development. From the 1970s onwards, the family began pursuing a more ambitious focus on quality, eventually becoming pioneers of sustainable and biodynamic viticulture in Alto Adige.
Today, diversity and respect for nature sit at the heart of Alois Lageder’s philosophy. The family’s vineyards are farmed biodynamically, with a holistic approach that embraces biodiversity, healthy soils and the natural rhythms of the vineyard, while the cellar combines traditional knowledge with thoughtful innovation. The result is a collection of precise, fresh and expressive wines that reflect the remarkable diversity of Alto Adige and the family’s belief that great wine begins with a healthy, living landscape.
