The Ceretto Family

Founded in the 1930s by Riccardo Ceretto and now led by the third generation of the family, Ceretto has played a transformative role in the story of modern Piedmont. The estate's defining moment came in the 1960s, when brothers Bruno and Marcello Ceretto recognised the importance of individual vineyard sites and began acquiring some of the region’s finest crus across Barolo and Barbaresco. Their pioneering focus on terroir helped establish the vineyard-first philosophy that is now synonymous with the Langhe, positioning Ceretto among the region’s most influential producers. Today, the family farms more than 160 hectares across Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, continuing a legacy built on innovation, curiosity and an unwavering commitment to quality.

Over the past two decades, Ceretto has become a leader in sustainable viticulture, converting all vineyards to organic farming and achieving certification in 2015. Guided by the belief that great wines begin in the vineyard, the family follows a low-intervention philosophy that prioritises healthy soils, biodiversity and the authentic expression of place. From Nebbiolo and Arneis to Moscato and Barbera, Ceretto’s wines are crafted to reflect the purity and character of their origins, combining precision and elegance with a profound respect for the landscapes that have shaped the family for generations.
