2020 Narls Margreid Pinot Grigio Hill

Producer: Nals Margreid

Grape:  Pinot Grigio

Region: Alto Adige, Italy

Producer Info:  Nals Margreid produces extraordinary, mineral rich wines from ancient terroir with enduring style and commitment to tradition. The Nals Winery was founded in 1932 by Alois Busetti and joined by the Margreid-Entiklar Winery (founded in 1954) in 1985, creating Nals Margreid.

Today, Nals Margreid is the home to 160 hectares of vineyards across 14 regions where they make the very best use of different elevation, climate, soil composition and vines.

A Sip With Mercato: This playful, deep straw yellow Pinot Grigio is clean and crisp with notes of dried apricot, pink grapefruit and thyme with well defined acidity and mineral undertones to finish. Pair this with an Italian classic dish from the Mediterranean like whipped salt cod or sardines in saor.

Soil Composition: Grey clay sand with a high clay content.

Production: The grapes are harvested by hand. Afterwards, the clarified must is fermented for around three weeks in stainless steel tanks. Before being bottled, the young wine is aged on the lees for a further five months.

Alcohol (%): 13.5%
