Product:Β It has shimmery ruby with garnet undertones. It is intensely perfumed with rose, violet, cedar and sweet spice characters mixed with ripe strawberry, plum and citrus zest aromas. The palate is vibrant with red and black berry fruit and some more delicate baking spices adding depth and complexity. The fine chalky tannins and high-pitched acidity are in total harmony with the fruit.
The 2018 Barbaresco Maria di BrΓΌn is a deep, effusive wine endowed with striking aromatic presence and a good deal of depth, too. Rose petal, spice, blood orange and cherries in liqueur give the 2018 its bright, lifted personality. Drinking window 2024 - 2036. -Β 93pts. Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Producer Info:Β Caβ is short for βcasaβ β home. CaβRomeβ is first and foremost home to Romano Marengo and his family.Β The Marengo family venture started in 1980, when patriarch Romano founded the company. Thirty years of wine industry experience gave Romano the impetus to produce his own range of wines, perfect his methods and pass them on to the next generation, who continues to carefully manage every phase of the production, starting with sourcing fruit from historic family-owned vineyards, and bringing these incredible wines to market with a highly contagious optimism.Β
Today, his dream lives on with his children Giuseppe (known as Pino), Paola, and Maria, all working together under the watchful eye of their mother Olimpia. Family values β quality, honesty, respect for tradition, exploration, and international air β constitute the core of Caβ Romeβs mission. The Marengo familyβs vineyards stretch across five hectares, spread between Barbaresco and Serralunga dβAlba, where the Barolo Rapet and Cerretta grow on sixty-year-old vines, passed down by Romanoβs mother Maria, whose name and portrait now adorn one of the Caβ Romeβ Barbaresco DOCG labels.
