Benito's daughter Gabriella
Benito Ferrara is a family winery with roots in the hills of Tufo, where the Ferrara family has been cultivating vines since the beginning of the 20th century. The estate as it exists today was established in the second half of the century by Benito Ferrara, an ambitious and forward-thinking farmer who recognised the importance of producing and bottling the family’s own wines. Together with his wife Michelina, he devoted himself to building the winery, laying the foundations for a family business shaped by hard work, courage and a genuine love of the land. Today, the 23-hectare estate remains in family hands, with Benito’s daughter Gabriella, her husband Sergio and their children Antonio and Lucia continuing his legacy.
At the heart of Benito Ferrara is a deep connection to Tufo and its remarkable potential for Greco, alongside the family’s vineyards of Aglianico in nearby Montemiletto. The vineyards sit high in the Irpinian hills, where generations of experience and careful vineyard work allow the family to capture the distinctive character of the territory. What began as one family’s determination to make its own wine has grown into a respected estate whose wines are enjoyed well beyond Campania, while remaining firmly grounded in the passion, family and sense of place that have defined Benito Ferrara from the beginning.
