2020 Villa Solais Vermentino di Sardegna

Producer: Co-operative di Santadi

Grape: Vermentino 85%, Nuragus 15%.

Pronunciation: ‘Verm-en-tino’

Region: Sardegna, Italy

Zone: Vermentino di Sardegna DOC

Producer Info:

Santadi’s vineyards are set in prime, gently rolling land reaching out to sea in the south-western coastal area known as Sulcis. It is unique in that the sandy soil allows pre-phylloxera vines to survive and thrive, a key factor in the supreme quality of the estate’s wines.

Tasting note: Typically crisp and refreshing with mineral notes, a few months maturation on lees has given this wine an extra dimension of flavour and body, adding some ripe tropical fruit notes.

Growing System: Guyot

Soil Composition: Medium mixture, tending to sandy or clayey.

Production: The hand-picked grapes are soft-pressed, and the must obtained is fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature, so as to preserve its fragrance and aromas. The wine is then left in contact with its lees for several months before being bottled.

Alcohol (%) 13.5%
