Producer Info: The Boasso Winery is a true testament of the Serralunga commune within the Barolo region of Piedmont. Founded in the 1950s by Franco Boasso, the winery specialises in Barolo, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto wines from their seven-hectare family-owned vineyards. They are traditionally made, flawless and entirely terroir driven; they look, smell and feel exactly like the Serralunga. Primarily tannic with a high acidity, you will instantly notice dark fruit, graphite, smoke, liquorice and peppery notes. Today, Boasso is operated by Franco’s sons, Claudio and Ezio. They produce wine from seven hectares of vineyards in the sub-zones of Gabutti, Meriame, Margheria, Lazzarito, Cerrati and Le Tune.
