Bonci is a family business with a 50 year history in the town of Montevarchi in the heart of Tuscany. They have a reputation of only engaging master pastry chefs and chocolatiers to produce their cakes and sweets. Bonci products are emblazoned with the coat-of-arms of Andrea Della Robbia. The head of a 15th century family whose crest is the guardian emblem of the town’s baptismal font and Sacred Milk relic, both currently housed in the ancient St. Lawrence Collegiate Church of Montevarchi, This is in homage to the history and traditions of the town they call home.
Il Panbriacone translates to drunken cake referring to the presence of sweet liqueur. This is a naturally leavened Panettone style cake, in a rectangular shape, laced with fragrant rum liqueur and scattered with dark chocolate chips. This is a decadent aromatic cake that can be enjoyed all year round but is best served slightly warm with cream or custard.
Ingredients:bread wheat flour, soaked alcoholic (alc. 14% vol.) syrup 30% (water, sugar, alcohol, rum 2%, natural flavours), sugar, butter, pasteurized free range eggs, dark chocolate chips 17% (sugar, cocoa paste, cocoa butter, emulsifier: soy lecithin, vanilla extract), natural yeast, salt. Produced in a facility that also processes hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, pistachios, dairy and soy
