Producer Info:

A winery founded in 1980 in western Sicily, which today stretches over 55 hectares of vineyards scattered throughout the territories of Trapani. "We have embraced the cause of organic and sustainability to perfectly combine environmental protection and food safety."

Grillo used to be only used in Marsala production on the Sicilian West Coast but a few pioneering producers in the early 1990s decided to vinify it as a dry table wine, with great results.
The variety loves a hot, arid climate and produces wonderful floral and fruity flavors but retaining freshness and vitality.

Tasting note: This Grillo is packed with peachy goodness, both in a floral, blossom sense and the juicy fleshy sense but finishes clean and dry. What a joy.

Production: Traditional in white, with a short cryomaceration of the peel and subsequent pressing and static decantation. Vinified in steel tanks at a temperature of 14-16 degrees for about 20 days. It is left together with the noble lees for about 30 days and decanted into steel tanks.

Ageing:  3 months in bottle.

Alcohol (%) 12.5%

Wine Review:

"From one of the great sites in Piedmont, the 2009 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata shows why this vineyard is so highly regarded. For starters, the tannins are quite finessed for the year, and that alone is remarkable. A great vineyard will do that. Layers of expressive red fruits, rose petals, spices and tobacco flow from an effortless, gracious Barolo built on pure texture. An intense, creamy finish rounds things out in style. This is dazzling juice." 93pts - Antonio Galloni
